“She didn’t expect me to do it tonight,” he said, shaking his head. “She thought she still had leverage because of Harrison.”
He walked over to the window, looking down at the street where the silver SUV remained parked.
“She was sitting in the library, drinking a glass of scotch, completely calm,” he continued.
“And Harrison?” I asked.
“He was there too,” Jonathan said, his jaw tightening. “Sitting in the corner like a shadow.”
“What did you say to her?” I asked.
“I told her I knew about the tracking, the threats, and what she did five years ago to push you out,” he said.
