The Hidden Ledger and the Reckoning of the Hart Family Foundation
“This is the official freeze on all Hart Foundation assets,” Rachel said.
“No funds can be moved, and no agreements can be executed.”
Vance Harrison turned on his heel and began to walk toward the exit.
“My lawyers will be in touch, Graham,” Vance called over his shoulder.
“And don’t bother calling my office.”
“Vance, wait!” Graham yelled, but Vance did not look back.
Sloane sank into one of the velvet chairs on the stage, burying her face in her hands.
“This is your fault,” she sobbed, looking up at Graham through smeared mascara.
“You promised me we would be clear of the foundation by the end of the month.”
“You promised we would have the offshore funds transferred.”
“Shut up, Sloane,” Margaret snapped.
“Every word you say is being recorded by these gentlemen.”
“I don’t care,” Sloane screamed, standing up again.
“I am not going to jail for you or your pathetic son.”
“He forced me to sign those matching grant documents.”
“He told me Claire would never find out because she was too distracted by her grief.”
The words stung, but I kept my face blank.
