“I am withdrawing all financial backing from this project immediately.”
“You can’t do that, Vance,” Graham said, his voice cracking as he took a step toward the edge of the stage.
“We have contracts.”
“Those contracts were based on falsified assets, Graham,” Vance replied coldly.
“I don’t partner with amateurs who leave a paper trail of fraud.”
Sloane wiped a tear from her cheek, though her eyes remained sharp and calculating.
“He told me it was a tax shelter,” Sloane screamed, pointing a manicured finger at Graham.
“He said the board had approved every single transaction.”
“You knew exactly what it was, Sloane,” Graham hissed, turning on her.
“You wanted the penthouse in Boston.”
“You told me your mother was handling the internal audits so we would never get caught.”
Margaret stood perfectly still, her pearls catching the light of the chandelier.
