“It was not,” Judge Vance said. “It was embezzlement.”

“The court has also reviewed the records showing that your father, Martin Collins, used Whitaker funds to purchase three luxury properties in Florida.”

“All while your husband was working as a handyman to pay off debts you claimed the family owed.”

Martin stood up, his face contorted.

“This is a setup!” he shouted. “That man is a liar!”

“Sit down, Mr. Collins, or I will have the bailiff remove you,” Judge Vance warned.

Martin sat down, his chest heaving.

Judge Vance picked up her gavel.

“The marriage is dissolved,” she declared.

“Due to the egregious, documented fraud committed by the defendant and her family, the prenuptial agreement is upheld in its entirety.”

“Claire Whitaker is stripped of any and all claims to Whitaker Construction, its subsidiaries, and its assets.”

“She is awarded zero spousal support.”

“Furthermore, she is ordered to return the marital home and all personal properties purchased with company funds within forty-eight hours.”

The gavel came down with a loud crack.

“This court is referring the audit findings to the state prosecutor for immediate criminal investigation,” Judge Vance added.
