Ethan took the token and plugged it into the side of his tablet.

A new window popped up on the screen, requesting biometric verification.

My father pressed his thumb against the tablet’s sensor.

The screen flashed green.

*Admin Access Granted.*

“I see the file transfer stream,” Ethan said.

His fingers flew across the digital keyboard.

“It’s at eighty-two percent,” I whispered, watching the progress bar grow.

“I’m tracking the packet destination,” Ethan said.

“They’re routing it to an offshore server in the Caymans,” Ethan added.

“Block the IP range,” my father ordered.

“If I block the range, it might trigger a self-delete on our end,” Ethan warned.

“Do it anyway,” my father said. “We have the physical backups in the safe.”

I watched the progress bar hit eighty-nine percent.

The wind blew rain into the doorway, spraying my face with cold water.

“Marcus,” my father said into his phone, calling the head of corporate security. “Are you on the main frame?”

“Yes, Mr. Whitaker,” Marcus’s voice crackled through the speaker.

“Ethan is pushing the admin override,” my father said. “Isolate the external port.”

“Understood,” Marcus replied.
