“You did this?” I whispered, looking at Margaret.
Margaret didn’t deny it; she only glared at me with pure venom.
“It kept the bloodline pure,” Margaret muttered. “You should thank me.”
“Thank you?” I said, my voice rising. “You violated me! You lied to me for a year!”
“You got a healthy child, didn’t you?” Margaret snapped.
Ethan suddenly lunged forward, grabbing Julian by the lapels of his coat.
“She is my daughter!” Ethan screamed into Julian’s face. “The papers say she is mine! The birth certificate says she is mine!”
Julian grabbed Ethan’s wrists and twisted them downward with sudden, brute strength.
Ethan gasped, stumbling backward and hitting the edge of the altar.
“She has my blood, Ethan,” Julian said, straightening his coat. “And I am back to claim what is mine. My daughter, and my share of the company.”
Sabrina took a step away from Ethan, her eyes darting toward the exit.
“This is a circus,” Sabrina muttered, shaking her head. “I didn’t sign up for this.”
