“Yes,” my father said. “But I never broke. I never gave them the passwords.”

He looked up at Charles, his expression turning fierce despite his weakness.

“I want to expose them, Charles,” my father said, his voice rising with sudden strength.

“I want the whole city to see what Julian Bellamy and his board of directors did.”

“They stole the lives of thousands of honest, hardworking people.”

Charles nodded solemnly, his face set in a hard, determined line.

“We will do exactly that,” Charles said.

“I have already contacted federal investigators who are outside the Bellamy Group’s jurisdiction.”

“As soon as we get you out of this building, the police will arrest Trevor and every executive involved.”

“And the money?” I asked, looking between them. “The pensions?”

“My personal legal team is already drafting the paperwork,” Charles promised, looking down at me.

“We will use my own funds to secure the assets and restore every stolen dollar to those families.”

“But first, we have to survive the night.”

A sudden, heavy thud vibrated through the floorboards beneath our feet.
