The False Heir and the Ledger of the Callahan Family Empire
I clicked the first PDF.
It was a scanned document with the official seal of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland.
The date on the report was October 14th, five years ago.
I translated the German text using my phone’s offline dictionary.
*Deceased: Tyler Callahan.*
*Cause of death: Acute toxicity.*
There were photos attached to the document.
They showed a young man lying on a stainless-steel table.
He looked like Julian, but the jawline was slightly different, the nose straighter.
It was the real Tyler.
But the most shocking part was the handwritten note scanned at the bottom of the page.
The handwriting belonged to Victoria.
The ink was blue, written in her elegant, sharp cursive.
*Pay the administrator. Destroy the original transport log. He does not exist anymore.*
My heart hammered against my ribs.
Victoria hadn’t just hidden Tyler away to avoid a scandal.
She had covered up his death.
And she had done it to prevent the Callahan empire from being split among his maternal cousins—the rightful heirs under the grandfather’s original will.
If Tyler was dead without an heir, the entire estate would have been liquidated and distributed outside Victoria’s control.
