The Fall of the Caldwell Dynasty and the Restored Legacy of Whitaker House
I stared at the screen, a cold realization settling in my chest.
My husband had not just been unfaithful with Vanessa.
He had systematically dismantled my father’s life’s work.
And Helen had been pulling the strings the entire time.
“I have enough here to go to the authorities, Dina,” I said.
“But the board will be ruined if this goes public before we secure the assets.”
“Arthur and Lorna need to see this first,” Dina said.
“They won’t believe Grant or Helen if you have the digital trail.”
“I need to print these,” I said. “And I need to confront Helen.”
“Emma, that’s dangerous,” Dina warned. “She is ruthless when she’s cornered.”
“She thinks she has won,” I said. “She thinks I’m just a grieving daughter with nothing left.”
“She doesn’t know I have these files.”
“I am going to make her admit what she did.”
“I want her to know exactly how she fell.”
“Where are you going to meet her?” Dina asked.
“The office,” I said. “The board meeting is scheduled for tomorrow morning.”
“But Helen is always there early, prepping with Grant.”
