The Fall of Prescott Global and the Reclamation of a Mother Legacy
“You will be too busy fighting the federal government,” I replied.
Agent Harris tapped his watch.
“Mr. Prescott, we have a transport vehicle waiting downstairs.”
“Am I under arrest?” Callum demanded.
“Not yet,” Harris said. “But we have instructions to escort you from the building while the search warrant is executed.”
The second agent stepped into the boardroom, his eyes scanning the mahogany table.
The board members began packing their briefcases, their movements hurried and silent.
They wanted to be gone before the television cameras arrived.
Callum looked at the phone in his hand.
The screen lit up again.
It was a text message from Vivian.
I could see the name *Mother* at the top of the screen, followed by a single line of text.
He did not open it.
He slowly put the phone into his pocket.
“This isn’t over,” he said to me.
He looked at my stomach, his expression darkening into something cold and sharp.
“You think you can raise him alone,” he said. “You think you can keep him from me.”
“I know I can,” I said.
