Another message read: “Once I have the trust power of attorney, she can’t touch me. We’ll take the kid and leave the country if we have to.”

A low murmur went through the small gallery.

Judge Vance leaned forward, his brow furrowed.

“Are these verified, Ms. Pierce?” the judge asked.

“They are, Your Honor,” Naomi said. “Recovered directly from the network provider under emergency subpoena.”

“And finally, we have the events of last night.”

Naomi played a video file.

The screen showed the brightly lit hallway of the military hospital’s maternity ward.

In the frame, Grant appeared, his clothes disheveled.

He was shouting at a nurse, his face inches from hers.

He slammed his fist against the security door of the ward.

Two military police officers entered the frame, grabbing Grant’s arms.

He struggled against them, kicking at a trash can and shouting obscenities.

The footage ended with Grant being pushed out of the hospital doors.

“Mr. Holloway was removed last night for trespassing and disorderly conduct,” Naomi said.

“He abandoned his wife while she was in active labor to attempt a fraudulent wire transfer from her trust.”
