I leaned forward, my hands gripping the leather headrest of the front seat.
“Denise is there?” I asked.
The agent waved his hand to keep me quiet, but his eyes remained fixed on the digital map on the dashboard.
“Confirm, Team Two,” the agent said. “Is Denise Richards cooperating with the warrant?”
“Affirmative,” the voice replied through the static.
“Her attorney just handed over three external hard drives and the offshore ledger.”
“She signed the proffer agreement ten minutes ago.”
“She is giving up Gregory.”
I let out a slow breath, the cold air from the air conditioning hitting my face.
Denise had always been a survivor.
When the ship began to sink, she was never going to go down with Gregory.
“What about the main target?” the agent asked into his collar mic.
“Where is Gregory Richards?”
“Our surveillance shows him at the residence in the hills,” Team Two replied.
“He is isolated.”
“His personal security detail just walked off the property after learning about the federal warrants.”
The SUV jolted as we hit a pothole, turning onto the winding mountain road that led to the estate.
