Nathan took a step forward, his hand reaching into his inner coat pocket.

He pulled out a single printed sheet of paper.

“You might want to rethink that, Victor,” Nathan said.

“Get away from me, Nathan,” Victor snarled.

“I have the email chain from March of three years ago,” Nathan said, holding up the page.

Victor froze.

The color quickly drained from his face, leaving his skin looking gray and hollowed.

“The one where you instructed the offshore bank to divert the initial seed capital,” Nathan continued.

I looked from Nathan to Victor, my heart hammering against my ribs.

The seed capital. My father’s money. The money I had trusted Victor with when we first started.

“That was an internal loan,” Victor stammered, his eyes darting away from mine.

“You called it a write-off in the email,” Nathan said. “And you sent it directly to a shell company registered under Brooke’s name.”

Victor’s hand began to tremble violently against his thigh.

He looked at the security guards, then at Evelyn, and finally back at me.
