“She was tracking them,” Ana said. “Once we get you settled at the hospital, I will bring the files so you can see them.”
Two paramedics entered the bedroom, carrying a folding gurney.

I let them help me onto the gurney, my legs feeling like lead weights.
Ana walked beside me as we moved down the long, shadowed hallway and down the grand staircase.

Outside, the cool night air hit my face, shocking my senses back to life.
