At the same moment, the heavy oak door of the conference room clicked.

“The authorization for the three-million-dollar draw came from a device registered to Grant Whitmore’s home office,” he added.
“The transfer occurred at two in the morning on the twelfth.”
“While Vivian was in Seattle visiting the timber suppliers.”
Diane Cho leaned forward, her silver pen poised over her yellow notepad.
“And the signature on the digital authorization form?” Diane asked.
“It was a cropped image of Vivian’s signature,” the man said.
“Our forensic team confirmed it was lifted from a scanned copy of a 2022 partnership agreement.”
