“We can lock Adrian out of every single account he owns before the banks close today,” Grace said. “Domestic, international, personal, and corporate.”

“He won’t be able to move a dollar,” I realized.

“He won’t even be able to pay his parking ticket,” Grace said.

She looked at Celeste. “Go to the bank on the corner. My office will contact you with the wire confirmation.”

Celeste stood up, pulling her trench coat tight, and walked quickly out of the shop without looking back.

Grace and I walked out right behind her, back into the hot city air.

Grace was already dialing her phone as we walked toward her parked sedan.

“Marcus,” Grace said into the phone, her voice carrying over the traffic. “I need the emergency asset freeze template. We have the offshore accounts and the forgery metadata.”

She listened for a second, then opened the car door for me.

“Get in, Vivian,” Grace said. “We are going to the courthouse.”

I climbed into the back seat and strapped Lily into her infant seat.

My hands were shaking as I clicked the buckle.
