“That is absurd,” Daniel said. “I explicitly told him that leaving the jurisdiction would trigger an immediate arrest warrant.”
“He doesn’t care what you told him,” I said. “He used an offshore account to wire eighty-five thousand dollars to a charter company tonight.”
“I have the wire receipt right here,” Lena added. “And we have something else.”
“What?” Daniel asked, his tone sharpening.
“We decrypted the offshore server files from Darrow House,” Lena said. “We have the metadata for the prenuptial amendment.”
“The amendment is valid,” Daniel said. “I witnessed it myself.”
“You didn’t witness this version,” Lena said. “Grant used your digital signature key from the 2023 Mercer Hospitality audit to backdate the document.”

“Daniel?” I asked.
“I need to verify this,” Daniel said, his voice suddenly dropping an octave.
“I’m emailing you the metadata file right now,” Lena said. “Check the certificate authority log.”
“If this is true…” Daniel muttered, his voice trailing off.
“If this is true, your client committed federal bank fraud using your identity,” I said.
