It was Blaire.

“Blaire?” I whispered, turning my back to the glass wall of the conference room.

“He’s setting you up,” Blaire said, her voice shaking through the receiver.

“Philip’s drives have a wipe command built into the boot sequence.”

“The moment you plug them into the Whitaker network, they delete the server backups.”

I looked back through the glass at Philip.

He was sitting at the table, his fingers nervously tapping his thighs, his gaze fixed on his shoes.

“Where are you right now, Blaire?” I asked.

“In a cab,” she said, her voice cracking.

“Daniel told me to run, but Grant… Grant is trying to pin the Blue Horizon transfers on me.”

“I know about Blue Horizon,” I said.

“And I know you didn’t know it was illegal.”

“He told me it was an inheritance shelter,” she sobbed.

“He said it was for our future. Please, Nora, don’t let them arrest me.”

“Stay on the line,” I said.

I walked back to the conference table and pressed the speakerphone button on the console, then muted my cell phone.

“Philip,” I said, my voice cold.
