“Vance, it’s Lena,” she said. “I have the primary source data for the Mercer Hospitality accounts. We have the physical decryption keys.”

She listened for a moment, her face grim under the fluorescent lights.

“Yes,” she said. “The entire secondary ledger. It shows wire transfers totaling fourteen million dollars in unreported domestic revenue.”

She looked at the screen, then back at me.

“We also have the physical location of the mirrored server,” Lena continued into the receiver. “It’s in the executive suite on Lexington. Room 1402.”

She paused, listening to the voice on the other end.

“How fast can you get the warrant signed?” she asked.

The room was completely still except for the low hum of the server tower in the corner.

Lena nodded slowly.

“We’ll meet your team at the federal courthouse in an hour,” she said, and hung up the phone.

She turned to me, her expression completely flat.

“The Eastern District is going to take the case,” she said. “But we have a tactical problem.”

“What is it?” I asked.
