“We have a warrant for the seizure of all hospital electronic records related to the admission of Luca Grant,” Miller said.
“That is highly irregular,” Marla said, her fingers clutching the edge of her desk. “We require legal review before any such documents are released.”
I stepped around Miller and approached the desk.
“The legal review is already over, Marla,” I said.

“This contains the transaction history for your account at the Cayman National Bank,” I said.
Marla didn’t look at the phone. She kept her eyes on me, her jaw tight.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” she said.
“Sixty thousand dollars,” I said. “Deposited three days ago by a shell company registered to Marcus Vance.”
“That is a lie,” she whispered.
“The routing numbers match your personal financial disclosures,” I said. “I checked before we came down.”
The double doors opened again, and a tall man in a grey suit entered, followed by two uniformed Boston police officers.
The man in the suit looked at Miller, then at Marla.
