Nathan leaned forward, his fingers flying across the laptop keyboard in front of him.
“He’s accessing the offshore accounts,” Nathan said.
“He’s transferring the entire trust fund to an unlisted account in Panama.”
My heart stopped.
“Lily’s inheritance,” I whispered.
“He’s stealing it,” Nathan said.
He looked up at me, his eyes dark with sudden panic.
“Emily, we need the authorization code from the hospital records.”
“The one from the DNA registry.”
“It’s the only override he doesn’t have.”
I stared at him, my mind racing.
“I don’t have it,” I said.
“It was on the paper Richard took.”
The timer on the screen ticked down to four minutes and thirty seconds.
The boardroom door flew open.
A security guard stood in the doorway, his face pale.
