The Bloodline Betrayal Hidden Beneath the Cold Foundations of My Empire
Adrian sat down in the leather chair across from me.
He looked tired, but the tension in his jaw was gone.
“The syndicate confirmed Caleb’s transfer,” Adrian said.
“He is on a boat to Eastern Europe.”
“He will never return to the United States.”
“He will spend the rest of his life in a concrete cell.”
“It is a better fate than he deserved,” I said.
“It is the cleanest way,” Adrian said.
“If we had killed him, his faction would have sought revenge.”
“This way, he is simply erased.”
“And Elena?” I asked.
“She is at the federal building in Albany,” Adrian said.
“She is cooperating.”
“Her testimony will dismantle Caleb’s entire network.”
He stood up and walked over to the window.
He looked out at the rolling hills of the estate.
“I am selling the Hudson Valley property,” Adrian said.
I stood up and went to his side.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“This house has too many ghosts,” Adrian said.
“The vaults, the hidden rooms, the concrete cellars.”
“It was built for war.”
“I don’t want Lila to grow up in a fortress.”
