My grip tightened on the grip of my sidearm.

Only three people had the active gate codes for the Hudson Valley estate.

Myself, Caleb, and Elena.

“Where is Elena?” I muttered into my collar mic.

“She’s in the main security parlor, Boss,” Daniel replied. “She said she was checking the western perimeter feeds.”

“Find her, Daniel,” I ordered. “And lock down the main terminal.”

I turned back to Clara, who was leaning her head against Marcus’s broad chest.

“Clara, listen to me,” I said, leaning close to her ear. “The offshore accounts. Do you know the authorization codes to freeze them?”

She nodded weakly, her eyelids fluttering.

“I memorized them,” she whispered. “The bank in Geneva. The cipher is in my head.”

“If I can freeze those accounts, Caleb is finished,” I said. “He won’t have the funds to pay his mercenaries.”

“I will give them to you,” she said. “Just… keep our daughter safe.”

She looked past me toward Lila, who was whimpering quietly in Nora’s arms.

“I will,” I promised. “I swear it.”

We moved quickly out of the damp vault and into the narrow concrete corridor.
