Outside, red and blue lights cut through the heavy rain, flashing against the dark skyscrapers across the street.

The high-pitched wail of sirens grew louder, echoing in the cavernous room as two police cruisers pulled onto the curb.

The heavy glass doors slid open again, and three uniformed officers stepped inside, their boots squeaking loudly on the wet floor.

Behind them came two security guards from Graves Tower, holding Arthur Dunleavy by his arms.

Arthur looked smaller now, his expensive suit rumpled and his hair plastered to his forehead.

“Mr. Graves,” the lead officer said, nodding toward Nathaniel. “We have the warrants for grand larceny and systematic fraud.”

“Excellent,” Nathaniel said, his face expressionless. “The digital ledgers have already been transferred to your precinct’s financial crimes division.”

Arthur struggled against the guards’ grip, his face twisting with rage as he saw his nephew.

“Julian!” Arthur yelled, his voice cracking. “Tell them! Tell them about the agreement!”

Julian did not even look at his uncle.

He simply stood there, his hands slipped casually into his coat pockets, watching the spectacle with cold detachment.
