“But I am going to correct it tonight,” he said.

He walked over to the wall monitor and pressed a button, bringing up a live feed of the building’s ground-floor lobby.

The lobby of Graves Tower was vast, a cavern of glass and white marble, currently empty under the dim night lights.

“We are going down there,” Nathaniel said. “I have already contacted my legal team and the city building inspector.”

“What about the people at Brindlewood?” I asked, rising from the chair. “Arthur’s men are there right now.”

“My security team is already on their way to Brindlewood to halt any illegal evictions,” Nathaniel assured me. “But we need to secure the original physical ledgers from Arthur’s office here in the building before he can destroy them.”

He looked at the security feed, his jaw tight.

“Arthur thinks he can slip out through the underground parking garage,” Nathaniel said. “But I have just initiated a full security lockdown of the entire tower.”

I looked at the screen, watching the heavy metal security grilles slowly slide down over the massive glass entrance doors of the lobby seventy floors below.
