“Excellent work, Marco,” Ryker replied, his voice flat and cold.
Voss looked at the agents, then at the recording device on the desk, and finally at me.
“This is a setup,” Voss hissed, his voice trembling as a second agent grabbed his wrists. “You tricked me.”
“You made your own choices, Gideon,” I said, stepping back to give the agents room.
The heavy steel handcuffs clicked shut around Voss’s wrists with a definitive, metallic snap.
“You’re going to prison for a very long time, Voss,” Ryker said, standing up and towering over the desk.
“You won’t get away with this, Steel,” Voss snarled as he was forced toward the door. “The board will never let you keep those children.”
“The board has already been notified of your arrest,” Ryker said.
“And they have already seen the evidence,” I added, holding up my tablet.
Voss did not speak again as the agents led him out of the office, his expensive leather shoes dragging on the carpet.
Through the open doorway, I could see two other agents escorting Celeste Reed and Vivian Mercer down the hallway in handcuffs.
