The Billionaire and the Secrets Behind the Abandoned Heirs of Steel
I pulled up the digital copy of the trust agreement that I had downloaded earlier.
My eyes scanned the dense legal language, searching for any vulnerability.
“The original trust was drafted by your family’s old firm,” I noted.
“But there is an amendment filed eighteen months ago.”
“Who signed the amendment?” Ryker asked.
“It has Mara’s signature,” I said, zooming in on the document. “But it was witnessed by Celeste Reed.”
Ryker’s face darkened.
“Celeste,” he muttered. “She was already working with Voss back then.”
“If we can prove the amendment was signed under duress, we can throw out the entire document,” I said.
“But we need proof, Ryker. A court won’t just take our word for it.”
The intercom on the desk suddenly buzzed.
Marco’s voice came through the speaker, tight with tension.
“Mr. Steel, we have headlights at the gate.”
Ryker stepped closer to the desk and pressed the button.
“Who is it, Marco?”
“It’s a local sheriff’s deputy,” Marco replied. “And he has Gideon Voss with him.”
I looked at the clock on the wall.
It was barely ten o’clock.
