“The U.S. Attorney?” Grant whispered.
“They have been looking into Harrow Enterprises for eighteen months,” Naomi said.
“This was the missing piece they needed.”
Conrad stood up so quickly his leather chair rolled back and hit the wall.
“This meeting is over,” Conrad barked, his face turning a deep, angry red.
“We will see you in court, Naomi.”
“We won’t make it to court, Conrad,” Naomi said, closing her folder.
“The board of directors is already voting on your removal.”
“And the federal marshals will likely be at your residence by this afternoon.”
Grant looked at his father, his face pale and slick with sweat.
“Dad?” Grant said, his voice high and desperate. “What is she talking about?”
Conrad did not answer him; he turned and marched out of the room, Vance hurrying behind him.
Grant stood up, looking at me with a mixture of anger and terror.
“You’ve destroyed us, Amelia,” Grant hissed, his voice trembling.
“You did that yourself, Grant,” I said quietly.
