“His lead attorney just sent over an emergency motion,” Naomi continued, her tone turning serious.

“What kind of motion?” I asked, my grip tightening on the steering wheel.

“He is launching a massive offensive to invalidate your prenuptial agreement,” Naomi said. “He wants to freeze all your joint assets and claim you are unfit for custody due to emotional instability.”

“Can he do that?” I asked.

“He can try,” Naomi said, and I could hear the faint edge of a confident smile in her voice. “But he doesn’t know what I just found in the Discovery documents.”

Before I could ask her what she meant, a pair of headlights appeared in my rearview mirror, tailing my SUV much too closely on the dark, wet road.

The headlights glared in my rearview mirror, blindingly bright against the dark, wet asphalt.

“Naomi, I have to go,” I whispered, keeping my eyes fixed on the road.

“What’s wrong?” Naomi asked.

“A car is tailing me,” I said, my palms sweating against the leather steering wheel.

I tapped the brakes lightly, signaling to the driver behind me.
