How the Silent Wife Exposed the Lies of a Powerful Dynasty
“This is a classic intimidation tactic,” Naomi said, her tone professional but serious. “But it’s dangerous. In a conservative family court, they can make these things look terrible.”
“I won’t let them take Lily,” I said, my voice cracking.
“Then we need Sienna’s files,” Naomi said, looking me in the eye. “If we can prove Conrad’s financial crimes, the Harrow name will be toxic. No judge will hand a child over to a family facing federal indictment.”
“How do we get the files?” I asked.
“We need to meet Sienna tonight,” Naomi said. “Before she panics and runs.”
My phone vibrated in my palm.
It was an unknown number.
I answered it immediately.
“Amelia,” Sienna’s voice whispered.
She sounded frantic, the sound of traffic loud in the background.
“I’m at the ferry terminal,” she said. “I think someone is following me.”
“Stay where you are,” I said. “We are coming to get you.”
“Hurry,” she sobbed. “Please, hurry.”
The line went dead again.
“She’s at the ferry terminal,” I told Naomi.
Naomi grabbed her coat and her briefcase.
“Let’s go,” she said.
