“Investigator, my team and I are leaving,” Marisol said.

“We have no further business here,” Marisol said.

Vance looked at her and nodded.

“You are free to go, Ms. Keene,” Vance said.

“But we may contact you for a statement regarding the contract negotiations,” Vance said.

“My office will cooperate fully,” Marisol said.

She turned to her assistant and gestured toward the door.

She did not look at Graham or Celeste again.

As she passed me, she paused for a brief second.

“You have a very valuable piece of land,” Marisol said.

“Keep it,” Marisol said.

I nodded once in acknowledgment.

Marisol walked out of the room, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor.

Harper Sloane stepped up beside me as the troopers began escorting Graham out.

“I suppose my services are no longer required,” Harper said.

“Not for a sale,” I said.

“But I will need someone to help me draft the conservation easement,” I said.

Harper looked surprised, then a small smile appeared on her face.

“The Virginia Outdoors Foundation?” Harper asked.

“Yes,” I said.

“Every single acre will be protected,” I said.
