“Watch this,” Harris murmured.
In the interrogation room, Miller opened a blue manila folder.
“Landon, we recovered the access logs from the security server this morning,” Miller said, sliding a printed sheet of paper across the metal table.
Landon glanced down at the paper, then quickly looked away, his eyes darting toward the corners of the room.
“What is this?” Landon asked, his voice dropping.
“It’s a digital footprint,” Miller said. “On the night Marissa was trapped, three separate commands were sent to the master control panel.”
“My mother probably did that from her phone,” Landon muttered, his shoulders slumping.
“The first command disabled the backup generator,” Miller said. “The second command overrode the garage door manual release.”
Landon swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat.
“The third command deleted the interior camera feeds from 8:00 PM to midnight,” Miller continued.
“I don’t know anything about that,” Landon said, his voice rising a register.
“The IP address for those commands traces back to a mobile device,” Miller said. “A device that was connected to the Wi-Fi at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport terminal.”
