How My Husband Locked Me Out and Ended Up Losing Everything
I checked the box confirming I was the sole legal owner of the property and had the unilateral right to sell.
I pressed the blue button that read *Submit Signed Documents*.
A green checkmark appeared on the screen.
“It’s done,” I told Molly.
“Now we wait for Jennifer,” she said.
I looked back at the security feed.
Brent was in the kitchen now, opening a bottle of champagne.
He poured three glasses, handing one to Diane and one to Karen.
They raised their glasses in a toast.
They thought they had won.
They thought they had locked me out of my own life, leaving me with nothing but a baby and a broken heart.
My phone rang.
It was an unknown number with a local Boulder area code.
I answered it.
“Tessa?” a man’s voice asked.
“Yes,” I said.
“This is Elliot,” he said. “I’m with the buyer’s representative. Jennifer just forwarded the fully executed deed.”
“Is the sale final?” I asked.
“It’s officially recorded,” Elliot said. “The funds have been wired to your escrow account. The house now belongs to Crestview Holdings LLC.”
