“Mr. Gross, did your clients inform you of the circumstances under which this document was allegedly signed?” Arthur asked.

“It was signed and witnessed in the hospital,” Mr. Gross said, looking slightly uncomfortable. “By Ryan Miller, who is present.”

Arthur opened the first blue folder.

“This is a certified copy of the visitor logs from St. Jude’s Hospital for the afternoon of October fourteenth,” Arthur said.

He slid a page across the table.

“As you can see, Ryan Miller’s name does not appear anywhere on this log,” Arthur said. “In fact, the only visitor listed is Ethan Miller.”

Ryan shifted in his chair, his face turning a dark red.

“I went in through the side doors,” Ryan muttered. “I didn’t sign the book.”

“The side doors are locked after noon, Mr. Miller,” Arthur said. “They are monitored by security cameras. We have already subpoenaed those tapes.”

Linda cleared her throat, her voice rising. “This is ridiculous. He was there. He saw her sign it.”

Arthur opened the second folder.

“This is the medical administration record for Sophia’s mother on October fourteenth,” Arthur said.
