How My Family Tried to Destroy Me and Ended Up Ruining Themselves
Arthur nodded, his knuckles turning white as he gripped his cane.
“I knew the ledgers didn’t make sense when her father took over,” Arthur said.
“He threatened to evict me from my storefront if I ever asked questions.”
“But now, Sadie, the entire trust reverts back to you.”
I stared at the thick documents inside the folder.
“So the house,” I murmured, the weight of the realization finally hitting me.
“The house belongs to me.”
“Completely,” Wyatt said, a small, grim smile appearing on his face.
“You have the legal authority to evict your parents immediately.”
“They have no legal right to stay on that property.”
“We can have the eviction papers served tonight,” Harper added, looking at his watch.
“Before your father even realizes Melanie has been processed at the station.”
A cold sense of determination settled over me, replacing the fear that had lingered for weeks.
They had tried to destroy my life, my face, and my relationship.
Now, I was going to take the very roof from over their heads.
“Let’s do it,” I said.
Wyatt held my hand tightly as we walked down the stone courthouse steps.
