How My Family Tried to Destroy Me and Ended Up Ruining Themselves
“This is your grandmother’s actual will, Sadie,” Marcus said.
“And it leaves seventy percent of the real estate holdings directly to you, bypassing your parents completely.”
I stared at the faded black ink of my grandmother’s signature.
“My parents told the court she left everything to them,” I said.
“Because they forged the probate documents,” Marcus said.
“If this is real,” Wyatt said, “then every penny they have spent from the estate over the last five years is stolen.”
“Exactly,” Marcus said. “And because Eleanor just accessed the trust to pay Richard’s bail, she opened the door.”
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“I have already drafted an emergency motion for a forensic audit,” Marcus explained.
“The judge is going to freeze every single account associated with the Davis name by tomorrow morning.”
“Everything?” I asked.
“Yes,” Marcus said. “Their personal accounts, the corporate accounts, and the trust.”
“They won’t even be able to pay their defense attorneys,” Wyatt noted.
I looked down at the paper, my fingers tracing the edge of the parchment.
“They will know it was Arthur,” I said, looking up at the old man.
