How My Family Tried to Destroy Me and Ended Up Ruining Themselves
“This is a setup,” my father said, pointing a shaking finger at Wyatt.
“That boy broke into our home. He’s been trying to steal our family’s assets for months.”
My mother nodded, tapping the stack of papers on the desk.
“We have the proof right here,” she said.
“We were just preparing to call the authorities when you arrived.”
Harper walked over to the desk, her eyes scanning the documents.
“What proof is that?” Harper asked.
“Wyatt’s digital signature,” my mother said, sliding a document toward Harper.
“He signed a contract transferring Sadie’s grandfather’s shares to his own holding company.”
“And when Sadie found out, he attacked her to silence her.”
I stared at my mother, sickened by the ease with which she lied.
“That’s a lie,” I said. “You sent me a text five minutes ago telling me to sign over those shares or you’d frame him.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” my mother replied, her expression perfectly blank.
“Your phone must have been hacked. This laptop contains the electronic trail.”
Wyatt took a step closer to the desk, looking at his computer.
