She turned to look at the pink toy device in my hand.
“We have them,” she whispered to me.
She stood up immediately, holding the documents in one hand and gesturing to the bench.
“Your Honor,” Sarah said, her voice echoing in the quiet courtroom. “We have just received the certified metadata reports from the state’s digital security office.”
Richard Vance, the Whitmore family’s lead attorney, stood up quickly.
“Objection, Your Honor,” Vance said, his voice booming. “Discovery has been closed for weeks. This is a highly irregular ambush.”
Judge Miller looked down from the bench, her expression stern and unreadable.
“What exactly do you have, Ms. Jenkins?” the judge asked.
“I have the physical source logs for the anonymous child neglect reports filed against my client,” Sarah said.
She walked toward the center of the room, her heels clicking on the hardwood.

I looked over at the opposite table.
