How a Military Commander Exposed the Betrayal of a Deceitful Husband
I stared at the phone in his hand, the room spinning around me.
The blue light of the USB drive seemed to burn against my palm.
The phone in Daniel’s hand began to light up again with an incoming text message.
My fingers tightened around the drive as the screen flashed.
The message was an image.
I leaned in to look.
The picture showed a close-up of Emma’s crib.
A dark shadow was standing over the sleeping baby.
The timestamp on the image was from one minute ago.
“Oh my god,” Daniel gasped, dropping the phone onto the floor.
“They’re at the house.”
“My team is securing the perimeter,” Hayes said, already reaching for his radio.
“Get the tactical unit on the line now!”
But the radio only emitted static.
The lights in the hallway suddenly flickered and died, plunging the entire house into pitch blackness.
The electronic lock on the safe clicked closed again.
A heavy metallic thud echoed from the front door.
“We’re jammed,” Miller shouted in the dark.
“All signals are down.”
My secure phone in my hand remained dark.
