“I don’t handle the family accounts anymore, Victoria,” I said.

Behind her, I saw the blur of a coastline, much closer than Nassau should have been.

“Don’t lie to me,” she snapped, squinting into her camera. “The bank representative said the restriction originated from a security hold placed by the primary beneficiary’s registered address.”

“That’s your home address, Rachel.”

Agent Vance stepped closer, his eyes fixed on my screen, his hand resting near his notebook.

“I can’t help you,” I said quietly.

“We are docking in Miami in three hours,” Victoria said, her voice rising in pitch.

“The captain said there’s a port maintenance issue, so we had to turn back early.”

“Dad is furious.”

“He’s with Mother in the cabin trying to get a satellite line to the Cayman managers.”

She leaned closer to her screen, her eyes darting to someone off-camera.

“If you’ve touched that money, Rachel, I swear to God I will make sure Ethan’s military career is over before he even gets back from deployment.”

“I have to go, Victoria,” I said.

I ended the call before she could answer.
