The name on the receiving account was a shell company based in the Cayman Islands.
Beside it was another account registered to an entity called Apex Luxury Holdings.
“Apex,” I murmured. “Samantha’s agency used to do work for a group with a similar name.”
I scrolled down the list of transactions.
The amounts were staggering.
Five hundred thousand dollars in October.
Eight hundred thousand in December.
Over the past two years, millions of dollars had been moved out of Hayes Enterprises.
“This is more than just a cover-up,” I said, my heart beating faster. “Preston is taking money.”
“He’s the CEO,” Daniel said. “But he doesn’t own the entire firm. Your family’s trust still holds the majority share, doesn’t it?”
“Yes,” I said. “My father set it up that way. Preston can’t just withdraw corporate capital for personal use without board approval.”
“Then this is illegal,” Daniel said.
