“It means he is completely stripped of his executive powers,” Margaret said. “He has no access to the Holloway name, the offices, or the accounts.”

She turned a page and pointed to a paragraph stamped with a red seal.

“Furthermore, he is legally barred from entering any property owned by the trust,” she said.

“The penthouse?” I asked.

“The lock codes were changed thirty minutes ago,” Margaret said. “His belongings are being packed into boxes and sent to a storage unit.”

“And the estate in the Hamptons?” I asked.

“The security staff there has been instructed to treat him as a trespasser,” Margaret said.

I looked at the documents, my fingers tracing the cold paper.

“What about Vanessa?” I asked.

“Vanessa was escorted out of the building by federal investigators,” Margaret said. “They found evidence that she was helping Grant hide assets in offshore shell companies.”

“She will face charges?” I asked.

“Yes,” Margaret said. “Conspiracy, fraud, and grand larceny.”

I let out a long breath that I felt I had been holding for days.

The room was silent except for the soft hum of the medical equipment.
