She turned on her heel and walked out of the room, her heels clicking rapidly down the tiled hallway.

Kevin closed his laptop.

“Can I go now, Ms. Voss?” he asked.

“Yes, Kevin,” Margaret said. “Keep that drive safe. The authorities will need it by morning.”

The young man packed his computer and left quickly, closing the door behind him.

The room fell silent again, except for the hum of the emergency lights.

I leaned my head back against the pillow.

My body felt exhausted, but my mind was racing.

“Is it enough?” I asked.

“To protect the babies, yes,” Margaret said.

She sat in the vinyl chair beside my bed.

“But to stop Grant permanently, we need more.”

“He still controls the main assets of the Holloway Empire,” I said.

“He will use his legal team to drag this out for years.”

“Not if we cut him off at the source,” Margaret said.

She opened her briefcase again and pulled out a thick, blue-bound folder.

“This is the original trust agreement signed by Grant’s father,” she said.

“There is a clause in here.”
