“Yes,” Margaret said. “The security detail I hired is outside their ward.”

“But Grant has access,” I said. “He is their father.”

Margaret looked down, her expression darkening.

“Vanessa was here earlier,” she said.

“Vanessa?” I felt a cold spike of anger in my chest. “She was here?”

“I saw her near the pediatric administrative offices,” Margaret said.

“She was wearing a visitor’s badge, but she was in a restricted area.”

“What was she doing?” I asked.

“I do not know yet,” Margaret said. “But she was talking to one of the night-shift nurses.”

“The charts,” I muttered, remembering Grant’s words.

*We’ll see what the world thinks when they find out what really happened during that delivery.*

“She was near the records terminal,” Margaret said.

“I am going to speak to the head of security here. I have a contact in their IT department.”

“Can they trace who accessed my file?” I asked.

“Yes,” Margaret said. “And we need to look at the physical security logs.”

“They are trying to get the babies out of the hospital,” I realized.
