I stared at the screen, the phone vibrating against my palm like a trapped insect.

The server room was on the basement level, two floors below my office.
“What is it?” Derek asked, leaning over my shoulder.
“Someone is in the server room,” I said.

I grabbed my keys from the desk and ran toward the heavy glass doors of the executive suite.
The hallway was quiet, the evening light casting long, gray shadows across the carpet.
My heels clicked sharply against the floor as I hurried toward the elevator.
