An Army Colonel Fights to Save His Daughter from a Dangerous Family Conspiracy
My father took a long step forward, his chest nearly touching Ethan’s.
“That is enough,” my father said.
The sheer authority in his voice made Ethan take a half-step back.
“You will not speak to my daughter that way,” my father said. “Not now. Not ever again.”
“You don’t understand, Colonel,” Ethan said, his hands shaking as he reached into his pocket. “If that recording gets out to the press or the board, my family is ruined. Our business, our reputation—everything we built is gone.”
“Then it is gone,” my father said. “You should have thought of that before you let your mother treat my daughter like a prisoner.”
“Give me the phone, Hannah,” Ethan said, ignoring my father and pointing at me. “Give me the recording, and I’ll make sure we settle this quietly. We can still work this out.”
“There is no working this out,” I said.
“Where is Owen?” Ethan asked, his voice turning sharp. “He’s my son. I have legal rights to him. I can walk up to that nursery right now and take him.”
“You won’t get past the door,” my father said.
