They were still blocks away, but they were coming.

My lawyer had promised me the federal agents would receive the tip tonight.

But Sophia did not know that yet.

She only saw the men in the room.

“Marcus is done anyway,” Sophia hissed, glaring at me. “The FBI has enough on him to lock him up for life.”

“Marcus has better lawyers than you do,” I said quietly.

“He is already talking to the US Attorney,” Luca said from the corner.

I looked at Luca.

He knew.

Marcus was preparing to sign.

He would give up the empire, sign the plea agreement, and hand over the keys to the Detroit faction.

It would keep him out of a maximum-security prison, but he would be stripped of his power.

He would have nothing left.

“You set me up,” Sophia whispered, her eyes dark with hatred.

“You set yourself up when you stole from them,” I said.

Vance stood up from the desk.

He closed the laptop and put the flash drive in his pocket.

“Take her downstairs,” Vance said to his men.
