A Forgotten Nurse Finds Healing When an Unexpected Question Changes Her Entire Life
“No problem, Dr. Sterling,” James said quickly. “Just a minor misunderstanding with some guests who were leaving.”
“They aren’t leaving,” Dr. Sterling said. “I invited Mr. Morrison here. He contacted me early this morning with some very serious concerns regarding the charity fund.”
James’s jaw tightened slightly, but he maintained his polite smile.
“Of course,” James said. “If the Morrison family has questions about the budget, we are happy to answer them during the public comment section.”
“This isn’t a public comment,” Daniel said, walking past James toward the table.
Daniel opened his briefcase and pulled out three thick folders.
He placed one in front of Dr. Sterling, one in front of the board treasurer, and kept one for himself.
“I would like to direct the board’s attention to the procurement audits from the last fiscal year,” Daniel said.
I walked to the front of the room and stood beside Daniel.
“Over the past twelve months,” I said, addressing the room, “the pediatric oncology department faced severe shortages of critical medications. We were told these shortages were due to supply chain issues.”
